Cities & Communities working towards a sustainable future

Cities and communities are working hard to create a more sustainable future. The United Nations has declared that by 2030, we must halve our consumption of natural resources and halve food waste. This is a huge task for cities and communities across the globe.

UNSDG Target 11.6

The United Nations Sustainable Goal #11 is titled Sustainable Cities and Communities. The UN states only 3% of land in the world is occupied by our cities but they account for 60-80% consumption of energy and 75% of carbon emissions. Organizations such as United Cities have been created and partnered with KPMG to lead change.  United Cities has partnered with SDG Impact Fund to create United Cities Funds as a global catalytic capital facility dedicated to enabling all 10,000 cities to transition to NetZero prosperity across the 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals by 2030″.
